“The Difference You
Can't See”
Glass Performance
Kennedy's Marquis skylight with Sun Wise glass incorporates
Cardinal Glass Industries' LoE2-140 insulated glass and superior
performance characteristics. The performance chart below clearly
shows “the difference you can't see.” The low-emittance
LoE2-140 coating on the #2 surface provides the best performance
ratings for Light Transmittance, Solar Heat Gain, U-Factor and Fading
Transmission. Kennedy's Marquis skylight comes with the Sun
Wise glass by Cardinal Glass Industries and three glazing options.
Check your local building codes and choose Tempered LoE2, Laminated
LoE2 or High Impact LoE2 (hurricane).

Solar Heat Gain Coefficient:
The amount of solar radiation that enters a building as heat.
The lower the number, the better the glazing prevents solar
heat gain.
U-Factor: This represents the heat flow rate
through a window expressed in BTU/hr/ft2/°F, using winter
weather conditions of 0°F outside and 70°F inside.
The smaller the number, the better the skylight is at reducing
cooling or heat loss.
Fading Transmission: The portion of energy
transmitted in a spectral region from 300 to 600 nanometers.
The lower the number, the better the glass is at reducing
the fade potential of carpets and interior furnishings.

Advanced Technology for Longer Life
Available in three models, eight standard sizes and
three glazing options, the Marquis Series features Sun Wise tempered
high performance insulating glass with the revolutionary Cardinal
LoE2-140 coating.

In 1978, Cardinal IG became the first manufacturer to produce dual-seal silicone
IG units, drastically reducing IG failures. Cardinal IG units
produced in 1978 with dual-seal silicone reported a cumulative
failure rate of just one percent over 20 years. Contrasted
with Cardinal's 1976 polysulfide dual-sealed IG units,
dual-seal silicone reduced IG failures by more than 85%.
In 1993, Cardinal introduced XL Edge, a revolutionary IG
unit combining a dual-seal silicone system with patented stainless
steel—rather than aluminum—spacers. XL Edge is
the most durable IG unit available today. Based on a decade's
worth of experience, we project that the failure rate for
Cardinal IG with XL Edge over 20 years will be well below
0.5 percent. |

| Features |
Benefits |
| Extruded aluminum exterior with welded corners
and painted bronze. |
Rugged, durable.
Custom colors available. |
| Integral 4" pre-punched nailing flange. |
Ease of installation. |
| SunWise glass is 1/2",
tempered high performance, LoE2 tinted, argon gas filled, insulating
glass. 20 year non-prorated warranty against seal failure. |
Provides cool, consistent
comfort in both summer and winter.
Blocks harmful UV (won't fade furnishings)
Stainless Steel channel spacer almost eliminates seal failure.
|
| Laminated and Impact
Glass is optional. |
Impact Glass is required
for high wind-borne debris areas. (Check your local building
codes.) |
| Interior wood has
a drywall return sized for both 1/2" and 5/8" wallboard and
is pre-painted white. |
Drywall return makes
finishing work easier, less labor.
Pre-painted white interior also saves time and money and
may eliminate the need for interior finishing. |
| An integral hinge
at the top of the skylight secures the sash to the base. |
Allows for easy removal
of sash should replacement become necessary without taking up
the roofing materials.
Diverts water away from the skylight as the water drains
down the roof. |
| Includes a full perimeter
condensation gutter. |
Should condensation
occur the condensation gutter stops the water from running down
the wood interior and causing water stains |
